Balachandran Chullikkadu is a renowned Malayalam poet from Kerala, India. He was born on July 30, 1957 in Paravur. He completed his graduation in English literature from Maharajas college, Ernakulam. His collection of poems published are Pathinettu kavithakal,Amaavaasi, Ghazal, Maanasaantharam, Dracula etc. A collection of his complete poems, Balachandran Chullikkadinte Kavithakal was published by D.C Books,Kerala. They have also published the book of his memoirs, Chidambarasmarana. His wife is the poetess Vijayalakshmi.

ബാലചന്ദ്രന്‍ ചുള്ളിക്കാടിന്റെ ആദ്യകവിതാസമാഹാരത്തിന്റെ പ്രത്യേക പതിപ്പ്. 1980-ല്‍ തൃശൂരിലെ രസന പബ്ലിക്കേഷന്‍സാണ് പതിനെട്ടു കവിതകള്‍ ആദ്യമായി പ്രസിദ്‌ധീകരിച്ചത്. അക്കാലത്ത് മുഖ്യധാരാപ്രസിദ്ധീകരണങ്ങളൊന്നും ബാലചന്ദ്രന്റെ കവിതകള്‍ പ്രസിദ്ധീകരിച്ചിരുന്നില്ല. കൊച്ചു മാസികകളാണ് ചുള്ളിക്കാടിന്റെ കവിതകള്‍ ജനകീയമാക്കിയത്. അതിലൊന്നായിരുന്നു രസന.

രസന ഒരു സംഘം കോളജ് വിദ്യാര്‍ഥികളുടെ ശ്രമഫലമായിരുന്നു. പ്രചാരണത്തിന് പണമില്ല, പുസ്തകംവില്പനയ്ക്കു വയ്ക്കാന്‍ പല ബുക്ക് സ്റ്റാളുകള്‍ക്കും സമ്മതമല്ല. പക്ഷേ സ്വയം പ്രകാശിതമായ പുസ്‌തകത്തിന്റെ 1500 കോപ്പിയും ഒരു മാസത്തിനകം സ്വയം വിറ്റു തീര്‍ന്നു. അന്ന് രസനയ്ക്കു പിന്നില്‍ പ്രവര്‍ത്തിച്ച വിദ്യാര്‍ഥികളിലൊരാളായ ഡോ കെ വി തോമസ് എഴുതിയ ആ ഒന്നാം പതിപ്പിന്റെ കഥയും ഈ പുസ്‌തകത്തിലുണ്ട്.
